  • Question

I think I need a new line, how can I check for sure?

    • Answer
    • To find out if your property has previously had a BT line, look for a white phone socket with a BT logo, usually found on a wall.

If you can't find one, and are not aware of the previous owners having a BT line, you are likely to need a new line. Please be aware that similar phone sockets may have been provided by a supplier other than BT. Sometimes even where a socket exists it may not necessarily be evidence that the property was previously served by BT.

We can check this for you:

      1. Choose a Calling Plan and click 'Get it now'.
      2. Select 'No, I don't have a working phone number and I'd like a new BT line'.
      3. Enter your postcode
Once we've confirmed your address we'll be able to tell you whether you need an engineer visit and if a connection charge applies.
