    Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi - Using Music

    • Follow the steps listed below to set up and use the music player.


      What music transfer tools do I need?
      To put music on your computer and then load it on your phone, you need:

      • A Microsoft® Windows® PC or Apple® Macintosh®
      • A USB data cable.

      What music file formats can I play?
      Your tablet can play many types of files: AAC, AMR, MP3, WAV, AAC+,
      MIDI, and OGG Vorbis. Click here to learn more. 

      Note: Your tablet does not support any DRM protected files.

      What headphones can I use?
      Your tablet has a 3.5mm headset jack for wired stereo listening. You can go wireless with Bluetooth® stereo headphones or speakers.


      Transferring Music using a USB cable

      1. Connect your device to a computer using a data cable. (It is recommended to connect directly to the computer, not through a hub). If your device is not being recognized by your computer, you may need to update your computer's USB drivers HERE.

        Note: microSD Card Slot not active. A future software upgrade will enable this device support up to microSD cards up to 32GB.
      2. Use your computer interface to transfer music files to your device.

        Windows PC

        Apple/MAC

        • Open Computer or My Computer

        • Your device should appear
          under Portable Devices (If your device is not being recognized you may need to update your drivers)
           Click here      
        • Select your device and select Device Storage.
        • For photos & videos select
          DCIM > Camera

        • For Music select Music or any other folder which contains music files

        • For any other files you wish to transfer, select the folder which contains the files to move to your computer.
        • Note: You can organize, rename and delete folders from your windows machine while the device is connected

        • Download and install the Android File Transfer app fromwww.android.com/ filetransfer, then connect your Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi using USB. The app will then allow you to
          access and transfer media back and forth.

         


      Access and play music

      1. From the home screen, touch Apps
      2. Touch Music
      3. To change view, at the top left corner of the screen touch New and recentAlbums, Artists, Songs, Playlist or Genres.           
      4. Touch the list heading to see your music grouped your way—like by Albums, by Artists, or Songs. To play, open a group and touch a song.


      Playlists


      To add a song to a playlist, touch + Add to playlist. Choose an existing playlist, or touch New playlist to create a new playlist.
      To edit, delete and rename a playlist, touch and hold the playlist.
