The following are the solutions for the typical trouble reported from PMB users. 
If free codecs or codec packs are installed in the computer, the following symptoms may occur. - Videos cannot be edited
- Videos cannot be played back
- AVCHD™ videos cannot be converted to MPEG2 or WMV videos
- AVCHD™ discs cannot be played back
- Blu-ray, AVCHD™ or DVD-Video discs cannot be created
- Thumbnails for some file formats are displayed as
- OS automatically shuts down
- Videos cannot be imported
- Video analysis fails
- The Runtime error occurs when launching PMB

Installation of PMB cannot proceed. Q2. I have bought a Sony product, and the version of its supplied PMB is older than the one already installed. Do I need to install it? Q1. I do not know the version of PMB installed in my computer. 
If the graphics driver installed in the computer is not compatible with DirectX® 9, the following symptoms may occur. - Images and their colors are not displayed properly when playing back videos
- Videos cannot be played back
- Videos cannot be edited
- Videos are not displayed properly when editing
- Thumbnails are blank, and displayed as
- When launching PMB, Windows® screen becomes smaller, or the screen resolution or color setting is lowered
When updating the graphics driver, please use the latest one available from the vendor of your computer or graphics card. Please also try updating PMB to the latest version.

When trying to open the Animation GIF file created with [Convert to HTML / Animation GIF] on Internet Explorer, the message "Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working." appears. Q4. The message "Unable to retrieve the management information." appears. Q3. Videos cannot be played back with Windows® Media Player. Q2. The network folders cannot be registered as Viewed folders or the location for imported files. Q1. Videos cannot be played back with PMB.

The disc or memory card media inserted in the computer's drive/slot is not recognized in Player for AVCHD™.
