What types of recording media such as external hard disk drives can be used?

Following external media with the USB interface can be used.
Media compatible with USB 2.0
- Hard disk or USB flash memory under 2TB. Optical disc drives such as a DVD drive or a CD drive can't be used. Use of an AC adaptor is recommended if you use a hard disk drive.
- Media formatted in FAT32 and without extended partition. If the media is not formatted with FAT32, you can use it by formatting it with the camcorder. Note that formatting erases all the data in the media.
We do not guarantee the operation of all the devices listed above.
- When you use the DIRECT COPY function, supply the power of the camcorder from the wall outlet using the AC adaptor.
- Optional Camcorder Cable VMC-UAM1 is necessary.
- Using a USB hub is not supported.
- Ask manufacturer of the media for details on the media.
