    Advanced Access Content System (AACS)

    • Answer
    • Important news for PlayStation 3 owners enjoying audio and video content on Blu-ray Disc.

Blu-ray Disc (BD) uses the Advanced Access Content System (AACS) for audio and video content protection on PlayStation 3. From time to time, you will need to update the encryption keys stored on your PS3 to ensure you can continue to enjoy content stored on Blu-ray Disc.

The easiest way to do this is to ensure you download and install the latest PS3 system software update to your PlayStation 3. This can be done in a number of ways, including System Update (use your PS3 to go online and download the update) or PC Update (visit eu.playstation.com and download the update to your PC before transferring to your PS3.) System software updates are also contained on all newly released PlayStation 3 games.

For further support regarding AACS or system software updates, please contact your local Customer Service helpline.

Please note that should you encounter any problems playing a Blu-ray Disc, you should first ensure that you have installed the latest PS3 system software update.
