    Video output on PS3

    • Answer
    • Optimise your viewing experience by setting the best resolution for your TV.

The PS3 system can output two types of resolution: High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD). Refer to the instruction manual for the TV in use to check which video mode is supported.

High Definition Video Mode* / Aspect Ratio:
      1080p / 16:9
      1080i / 16:9
      720p / 16:9

Standard Definition Video Mode / Aspect Ratio:
      576p / 16:9, 4:3
      576i** / 16:9, 4:3

      * This number indicates the number of scan lines. Note that "i" stands for "interlaced" and "p" stands for "progressive". Using progressive results in high-quality video with minimal flickering.
** The video output setting on the system will display as [Standard (PAL)]

      1. High Definition screen resolution
      2. Standard Definition screen resolution
