    • What's needed to transfer the ownership of a number will change for each account type. Listed below are the specifics for these accounts.

      Pay monthly domestic accounts.

      If you have a pay as you go account that you wish to transfer into another name, we ask that you:

      1. call us on 150 from your Orange phone, or 07973 100 150 from any other phone.
      2. provide us with:
        • your name, phone number, SIM card number and password.
        • confirmation that you wish to transfer the number into another name.
        • the name and contact number of the person who's taking over your phone.
      3. contact the person who's name your phone is being transferred into and provide them with your phone number.
      4. cancel your BlackBerry Internet Service if you have a BlackBerry phone so that the new owner doesn't receive your emails.

      The person who's taking over your phone should then:

      1. call us on 150 from an Orange phone, or 07973 100 150 from any other phone.
      2. their account details in the form of:
        • their account number and password if the phone is transferring to an existing account. We'll complete a credit check at this stage.
        • their own name, address, date of birth and marital status if we have to create a new account. We'll complete a credit check at this stage.
      3. let us know what the payment method for the account, which will be either direct debit or monthly cheque payment.
      4. let us know the IMEI number of the phone that will be used, which can be found by entering *#06# on the phone or by checking underneath the battery.

      Business accounts.

      We'll need to know what kind of business you are first as we'll need to complete a credit check and the information we need from you is business-type specific. The different business accounts are:

      • A sole trader which only has one employee within the business, such as a self-employed plumber.
      • A small business which has between 2 and 49 employees.
      • A medium business which has between 50 and 249 employees.
      • A corporate business which has 250 employees and above.
      • A public sector account, such as government, health or education based.


      Sole trader and small business accounts.

      1. Prior to contacting us you'll need to know:
        • the length of time that your company has been in business if you're applying for a new account.
        • the registered business account if you're applying for a new account.
        • the length of time that your company has held their business bank account for if you're applying for a new account.
        • the company registration number if you're applying for a new account.
        • the talkplan that you want the number to transfer on to.
        • your business email address so that we can email you a form to complete as part of your application.
      2. Please call 345 from an Orange phone, or 07973 100 345 from any other phone.
      3. We'll complete the credit check and email you two forms to complete, one by yourself as the buyer and one by the owner of the account the the number is leaving.
      4. Complete and return the form to the email address that we'll supply to you.
      5. We'll contact you back within 48 hours to complete the number transfer.

      Sole traders can also set-up their number transfer in an Orange Retail store.


      Any other business accounts.

      1. Prior to contacting us, you'll need to know the business email address and the email address of the current owner of the phone.
      2. Please call 158 from an Orange phone, or 07973 100 158 from any other phone.
      3. We'll send an email to both addresses. This email will contain a form for both the current owner and the business, that we'll need completed and returned back to us via an email address that we'll supply.
      4. Once both forms are received, we'll complete a credit check within 24 hours and contact the business receiving the number.


      Pay as you go accounts.

      If you have a pay as you go account that you wish to transfer into another name, we ask that you:

      1. call us on 450 from your Orange phone, or 07973 100 450 from any other phone.
      2. provide us with:
        • your name, phone number, SIM card number, password and 4 digit security number.
        • confirmation that you wish to transfer the number into another name.
      3. contact the person who's name your phone is being transferred into and provide them with your phone number and SIM card number.

      The person who's taking over your phone should then:

      1. call us on 450 from an Orange phone, or 07973 100 450 from any other phone.
      2. provide us with:
        • the name of the current phone holder, their phone number and SIM card number.
        • their own name, address, date of birth and marital status so that we can create an account for them.
      3. provide a nominated credit card if you wish to order any Top-Up credit.
      4. let us know the IMEI number of the phone that will be used, which can be found by entering *#06# on the phone or by checking underneath the battery.
