      When using a DVD disc:

The surface of the DVD disc may be dirty, or quality of the DVD disc may be poor. If this problem occurs often, try the following

      • Wipe away the dust or fingerprint on the disc lightly with a cleaning cloth from the center of the disc to the edge.
      • We recommend the use of discs manufactured by Sony, or discs with "for Handycam" or "for VIDEO CAMERA" logo. The recording surface of these discs, coated with high-quality protective film, is less susceptible to scratches than uncoated one, and reduces error when recording or playing back.
      • Some DVD discs in the market are poor in quality and may not comply with the DVD disc standards. Sony does not assure the writing/reading performance or compatibility of all the discs available in the market.

      When using a memory card:

      • If you have multiple memory cards, try using another memory card.
