How to use the App Store on an iPhone

A BlackBerry ID is a unique log on and enable you to access RIM services and third party services and provides customers with a 'single user account and credentials'.

BlackBerry customers wishing to set up BlackBerry Protect, or BlackBerry App World are required to create a BlackBerry ID and will be guided through this process during their first installation.

BlackBerry App World is Rim’s official store where you can download Apps and games for your phone.

• You will be asked for an email address and password and a security question to create aBlackBerry ID.

• A BlackBerry ID will enable you to log into BlackBerry App World and is also required when downloading free or chargeable Apps.

This error is due to an incorrect email address or password that has been entered for the BlackBerry ID login information. To reset this you need to self serve from your phone. To do this:

• Confirm that the email address has been entered correctly.

• Confirm you are entering the email address you used to set up BlackBerry App World. This must be an email address associated with your phone.

• If the email address is correct and you still receive the message ‘unable to validate email’ then follow the FAQ’s to reset the password.

O2 can’t reset your BlackBerry ID login details. You need to self serve from your phone. To do this: -

• From the phone click on ‘forgot password’.

• The password recovery screen will be populated with the email address you used to set up your BlackBerry ID.

• Click OK to accept the email address is the one associated with your BlackBerry ID. Complete 'security/recovery question' field and click ok.

• Your password has now been sent to your email address. Click on the link within the e-mail you receive and follow the instruction on screen to reset your secret/recovery answer and BlackBerry ID password.

If you have forgotten your BlackBerry ID and the answer to your security question you can now reset your BlackBerry password online. You will not be required to enter your security/recovery question when completing this online.

• To reset online click here

• Enter your BlackBerry ID, which is the email address you used to set up BlackBerry App World. This is also the email address you already have associated with your phone.

• An email has now been sent to your email address. Sign in to this email account through the browser on your phone or a computer.

• Open the password reset email and click the link to reset your password.

If you no longer have use or access to the email address you used to create your BlackBerry ID, you can now go online and update your details

• Click here
• Enter your BlackBerry ID, which is the email address you used to set up BlackBerry App World. This is also the email address you already have associated with your phone.
• An email has now been sent to your email address. Sign in to this email account through the browser on your phone or a computer.
• Select account details and Select Edit.
• You can update your email address details here.

To update your security/recovery question from your phone –

• Log into App World
• Click on the menu key and select Account information
• You can update your password and security/recovery question here.
• Select save

To update your security/recovery question online –

• Click here
• Select Account Details
• You can update your password and security/recovery question here.
• Select save

Apps downloaded from BlackBerry App World are not supported from o2 they are supported by the company that produced the App. To contact the company with a query about the application follow the steps below. From the device Home Screen open BlackBerry App World Select the My World tab which will list all the App's you have downloaded. Highlight the App you are having problems with.

Open the menu  options and select 'Contact Support'

This will draft an email to the company who produced the App. This is the email address that you will need to contact with your query.

BlackBerry Protect is a new security feature to help ensure your data is secure on your BlackBerry handset. BlackBerry Protect allows you to remotely activate a loud ring feature, lock your BlackBerry & set a password, view the current location of your phone and complete a phone wipe.

BlackBerry Protect is available free from the BlackBerry App store . BlackBerry Protect is only available on the BlackBerry Internet Solution tariff.

You'll need to setup/sign in to a Googlemail account to be able to use the Market Place Store to download Apps.

X10 and X8

To add an App:

1. Double tap the bottom of the screen to bring up the main menu
2. Tap Market
3. Tap the App you wish to download

If it's a free App,

1. Tap Install
2. Tap OK

If it's a chargable App,

1. Tap Buy
2. Tap OK
3. Tap Select payment method and select your payment method
4. Insert your payment details, then tap Buy now
5. Your App will now be downloaded in the background, to check this, tap, hold and slide down the top of the screen (while downloading you will a flashing arrow in the top left of the screen)
6. You will see on this screen all the Apps you have been or are being downloaded.
7. Tap, hold and slide up the bottom of the screen to return to the Market Place.

X10 and X8

To delete an App from your phone:

1. Double tap the bottom of the screen to bring up the main menu
2. Tap Market
3. Tap Downloads
4. Tap the App you wish to Delete
5. Tap Uninstall
6. Tap OK to the Uninstall application message
7. Tap one of the reason you wish to remove the App, then tap OK.
8. The App will now be uninstalled.

creating folders 

• to create a folder, press and hold an App until it wobbles. Drag one App over another, hold for a few seconds, then drop the App in the folder that appears.

• give the folder a name by tapping the generic title that appears & use the qwerty keyboard, then press Done

• to add an App to an existing folder, while wobbling, drag & drop in the folder.

setting up social networks

The following steps show you how to setup social networking on your iPhone/iPad

Note: The images are taken from the iPhone but the steps are still the same when using the iPad

• From the Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
• Tap Music.
• Tap the folder icon.
• Tap the required album.
• Tap the required track.
• The selected music track will now be played.

1. open the applications tray
2. tap the Facebook icon
3. enter the email address that you registered with facebook and the password for your facebook account
4. tap Login, your phone will now connect to the facebook setup wizard.
5. select which facebook features you wish to connect your BlackBerry to: -

• BlackBerry Calendar  if you receive an event invitation on facebook this will appear in the phone calendar.
• BlackBerry Message  if you receive a notification on facebook this will appear as a message on your phone.
• BlackBerry Contacts  shares contact information between your phone's contact and your facebook contacts.

6. tap Save to start using facebook or tap Next to configure the detailed options.
7. our phone with now update with all the latest information from facebook

• From the Home screen, tap All.
• Tap Media.
• Tap Music.
• Tap All songs.
• Tap on the required music track.
• The music track will now be played.

Social Life: Update your status or Tweet (Facebook, Bebo MySpace, Twitter). Just send a SMS to 35433.
