    Connecting your Xbox 360 wirelessly

    • Answer
    • These instructions will help you connect your Xbox 360 to O2 Home Broadband wirelessly. You can go online with a cable too – this is usually the better option if you want to play games, because it can let you react slightly faster to the action on screen.

The Xbox 360 doesn't come with wireless as standard. So before you can connect it to the Internet wirelessly, you need to get Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter. You can get information on this from Microsoft.

Make sure the DSL/Broadband light on the O2 wireless box is lit green. Then follow these steps:

      1. Check your Xbox 360 doesn't have a disk in it, and that it's turned off.

      2. Turn your Xbox on and wait for the 'Dashboard' to appear.

      3. From 'System in the Xbox 360 Dashboard', select 'Network Settings'.

      4. Choose 'Edit Settings'.

      5. On the 'Basic Settings' tab, select 'Wireless Mode'.

      6. You'll see a list of wireless networks. Look for the SSID (network name) that matches what's printed on the bottom of your O2 wireless box.

      7. Select that network from the list.

      8. You'll be asked for some wireless security information. Enter the WEP key that's printed on the bottom of your O2 wireless box.

      9. Choose 'Apply'. Then, to make sure the connection's working, select 'Test' when prompted.

That's it – you're all ready to go. You just need to sign up for Microsoft's Xbox Live service in order to play games with (or against) other people on the Internet. See the 'Related Links' to find out all about it.
