Connecting your Xbox 360 with a cable

    • Answer
    • These instructions will help you connect your Xbox 360 to O2 Home Broadband using a standard network cable.

You'll need a standard network cable to get your Xbox 360 online. You can use the yellow Ethernet cable we sent you when you first joined O2 Home Broadband. Or most computer shops will be able to sell you one.

First, make sure the DSL light on the O2 wireless box is lit green.

      Then follow these steps:

      1. Check your Xbox 360 doesn't have a disk in, and that it's turned off.

      2. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into one of the yellow sockets on the back of the O2 wireless box.

      3. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into your Xbox 360's network socket. This is the same shape as the yellow sockets on the O2 wireless box.

      4. Turn on your Xbox 360.

      5. You'll need to do one of two things:

      - If you've already used your Xbox 360, the dashboard will open to the 'Xbox Live' area. Choose the Xbox Live banner. Once you see the 'Xbox Live Marketplace', you'll know you're connected to the Internet.

      - If you haven't turned on your Xbox 360 before, you need to create a new gamer profile. It's pretty straightforward – if you need help, please see the link to the Microsoft website in the 'Related Links'.

That's it – you're connected to the Internet.
