- Question
What’s port forwarding?
- Answer
-
Your O2 wireless box comes with its own firewall. It’s a bit like a drawbridge for your internet connection. So when you use a piece of software that needs the internet to work properly, it has to go through a ‘port’ to get past your firewall.
It’s quite technical stuff. But you shouldn’t ever have to worry about it. Most software today is designed to automatically find the right port.
