  • Why can I not schedule an instant recording (One Touch Recording)?

  • My recordings are able to be set and happen but they are no longer show in the library. Why ?

  • Why I can't record radio channels using the manual timer ?

  • Recording interrupted

      • Planner showing recording clash

If you see the on-screen message "Recording Interrupted", this means that your Sky box was unable to record because it lost power or the satellite signal during the recording, or someone chose to cancel the recording and then restarted it. It's possible to do this accidentally by choosing the wrong programme from the "Programme clash" warning screen.

After a few seconds your Sky+HD box will continue playback from the point when the satellite signal returned or recording was started.

Rebuilding your planner may prevent future recording issues.

A planner rebuild may fix the issues you have experienced or prevent future issues from occurring. The following instructions are easy to follow using your Sky remote and take just a few minutes.

Please note that this procedure will stop any recordings currently in progress - if you're currently recording a programme, you may wish to wait until it's finished before continuing.

Copying starts and after a few seconds the Copy screen appears, showing you the titles in order of selection with their length in minutes (see bottom illustration). This is to help you keep track and label your tapes/DVDs. You see an information screen for each programme before the entire recording is played back. Please wait until copying is complete before using your Sky+HD box again. To cancel at any time, press any button on your remote control.

      • Planner rebuild menu

If you are unable to watch recorded material because your Sky box keeps switching back to live TV, the recording might be corrupted or there might be a temporary issue with your planner.

You can try rebuilding your planner to check the hard drive and the TV Guide listings for temporary errors and missing space. This should allow the box to function as normal.

Rebuilding your planner is an easy process (taking just a few minutes) which may prevent future recording problems. A planner rebuild can be performed using your Sky remote.

Please note that this procedure will stop any recordings currently in progress - if you're currently recording a programme, you may wish to wait until it's finished before continuing.

  • Beginning or end missing from recorded programmes

      • Adding time to recordings

Are your recorded programmes missing the beginning or end? This is generally caused by programme schedules changing at the last minute and is difficult to avoid. We work with broadcasters to improve the accuracy of our program schedules, and your Sky box can handle changes to program schedules when the broadcaster informs Sky.

If you wish to manually set the recording to run over the normal scheduled time, perhaps because you believe a programme will be delayed or over-run, follow the instructions below. Please note that adding time will not guarantee that the recording will be made in full, as the broadcast may run further than the extra time you add. If you are recording two programmes back to back, one after another, this extra time will be dropped in order to allow for the recording of both programmes.
